South Bay Member Meetup: Dame Joanne Weir’s Copita Willow Glen

August 11th, 2024 at 1:00p

1098 Lincoln Ave, San Jose, CA 95125

LDEI-SF is inviting you to our next Member Meetup! Sunday, August 11 at 1PM we’ll be at Dame Joanne Weir’s Copita Tequileria y Comida restaurant in Willow Glen to sip a margarita, eat tacos and enjoy a beautiful California afternoon. Joanne will be there to chat and share more about this beautiful new venue.

Carpool, come early and stop at the abundant downtown Campbell Farmers’ Market and Manresa Bread for pastries while you’re there; or visit the International Food Bazaar at 2052 Curtner Ave for the most incredible array of Middle Eastern ingredients and fresh produce. If you’re feeling extra adventurous, go further south to Andy’s Orchard for the best stone fruit you’ve ever eaten.

Register now for this casual, no-host meet-up and a taste of the South Bay culinary scene. Guests also encouraged. No advance payment as Dames cover their own food and drink costs but we request registration to help Joanne prepare for the correct number of guests. Registration deadline is August 7 and please notify us of changes in your headcount or attendance by August 9. Member Meet Ups are a casual and fun way to stay connected as a dame in between our larger events. Contact Dame Beth Lee at beth@omgyummy.com with questions or for more local suggestions.

More about Copita: After 2 years of construction, Copita #2 (Copita #1 is in Sausalito) opened November 1, 2023 in Willow Glen, a charming neighborhood in San Jose. Complete with 247-seats on two floors with a rooftop bar on a prime corner in Willow Glen, Copita serves their award-winning margarita, a large selection of tequilas and mezcals, and modern Mexican food that is 100% GF and focuses on seasonal and organic produce. Designed by Arcanum Architects in San Francisco, the restaurant boasts extensive tile work, 2 bars, 2 large paintings by Oaxacan painter, Cheni Velazco, rooftop fire tables and soft seating. Copita’s chef is award-winning Azari Cuenca, who moved from Mexico City to Willow Glen, with his wife and three children to work at Copita. He’s passionate about his craft and it’s obvious on every creative plate.
