The San Francisco Chapter
In 1989 nineteen powerhouse women in the culinary world founded the San Francisco Chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier International in order to bring the mission of LDEI to Northern California. Today, our 112 members across the Bay Area and Northern California are shaping the local food and wine industry, while influencing our industries across the world. Through our events, programs and philanthropy, we support each other and nurture the next generation of women industry leaders. Our membership includes restaurateurs, professional chefs, bakers, caterers, cookbook authors, food journalists, farmers, food retailers, event planners, winemakers and wine industry professionals, food publicists, culinary educators and hospitality executives.
"Les Dames d'Escoffier is a leadership culinary organization composed of women who have not only achieved success in their profession, but who contribute significantly to their communities. Since its incorporation 25 years ago, Les Dames d'Escoffier has followed its mission to elevate the profession through mentoring members and helping worthy students succeed in their culinary careers. I am very proud to be a member." — JULIA CHILD, 2001
