East Bay Member Meetup at

Doctorbird Market
90 E 4th Street, Pittsburg
6:00 pm

LDEI-SF is inviting you to our next Member Meetup! May 1st at 6 pm we’ll be at Doctorbird in Pittsburg, CA to sip wine, eat cheese and have fun. Doctorbird Market is a family-run retail shop featuring small-production wine, craft beer, and specialty foods, owned and operated by Dame Danielle Fiala. This gorgeous shop features many products made by SF and Sonoma dames, so this is a great way to support Danielle and to purchase Dame-produced wines, olive oils and cheeses all in one place.

Doctorbird Market is the vision of Danielle and her husband,  Zane Fiala, both veterans of the Bay Area hospitality industry. This market is more than just a place to shop. They have poured their hearts into creating a welcoming and warm atmosphere that fosters a sense of community and appreciation for food and drink. The market is intended to function as a corner store (albeit a fancy one) for Pittsburg residents who enjoy good food and cooking at home.

Register now for this fun East Bay meetup. There is no registration fee as Dames will pay for  their own food & drink costs,  but a guest count helps Danielle prepare for the correct number of guests.  Member Meet Ups are a casual and fun way to stay connected as a dame in between our larger events. Contact Saundra O’Day with any questions.

More info about the wonderful Dame Danielle Fiala:

Nearly eighteen years ago, Danielle Fiala left a career in engineering to immerse herself in the world of food. Since then, she has worked in some of the finest Bay Area restaurants and delved into the wine-centric cuisine of Napa and Sonoma. As the culinary educator at the Meadowood Napa Valley resort, she developed recipes for home cooks of all levels, discovering a love for teaching along the way. A native of Jamaica, she is particularly conscious of the issue of food waste. Teaching offered a platform to spread awareness and help her students become more thoughtful about the way they purchase, utilize, and even dispose of ingredients. In 2021, she earned a professional certificate in copyediting from UC Berkeley and has begun seeking opportunities to marry these newly-acquired skills with her prior experience and lifelong love of cookbooks.

Most recently Danielle opened Doctorbird Market, which has been a dream for Danielle and her first employee, her daughter, age 8.
