This virtual panel discussion is part of Les Dames d’Escoffier International’s month-long Table Talk series in March; for a full listing of events, visit TableTalksLesDames.com.

In this virtual panel discussion, we welcome you to the future in food, where visionary startups are producing exciting and delicious alternatives to conventional meat and dairy products using pioneering technologies in fermentation and cultivation. With missions to be kinder to animals, the planet and human health, The Better Meat Co., Perfect Day and UPSIDE Foods are three California companies at the forefront of a new wave of making food, leaving animals (mostly) out of the equation.

San Francisco-based food-trend expert Dame Kara Nielsen will moderate this enlightening and engaging discussion with three women leaders, each at a company tapping a unique technological approach to creating nutritious and delicious foods.

  • Nicki Briggs, Vice President of Corporate Communications at Perfect Day (animal-free dairy)

  • Joanna Bromley, Co-founder and EVP of Finance at The Better Meat Co. (mycoprotein meats)

  • Amy Chen, Chief Executive Officer at UPSIDE Foods (cultivated chicken)

With these new-to-the-world foods landing on restaurant menus, in foodservice outlets and at retail store shelves, culinary professionals will be in a unique position to educate and inform consumers about these products, and be part of their positive impact on the environment and animal welfare. Join us to discuss the opportunities and also challenges that lie ahead for these companies and the future of food.

Zoom link will be sent with confirmation.
