An Exclusive LDEI-SF Private Tour
SingleThread Farm, arguably the most anticipated restaurant to open this year.
Situated in picturesque Healdsburg, with a nearby five-acre farm that grows most of the restaurant’s Japanese produce, SingleThread is the highly ambitious feat from chef and Fat Duck alum Kyle Connaughton and his farmer wife, Katina, who spent three and a half years living in Hokkaido, Japan. When the property debuted earlier this month, it immediately joined the ranks of esteemed destination restaurants across the country centered on farming their own ingredients.
For the very first time, the Connaughtons will host a small group of esteemed culinarians to tour the farm and enjoy tastes in the field. That group is limited to 20 members of the San Francisco chapter of Les Dames d’Escoffier. After a farm tour and talk with Kyle and Katina, we’ll head back to the restaurant were Chef will give a tour of the property, roof-top gardens and greenhouse. He will then serve his initial "Hassun" course on the roof-top. This course consists of 8-10 small bites. Corkage has been waived.
Where: Meet at 9:30 a.m. in the municipal parking lot directly behind Hotel Healdsburg (25 Matheson Street at Healdsburg Avenue) for a five-mile van ride to the farm. Carpooling to the farm is not an option because of parking issues.
Return at 12 noon. Lunch on your own at the many options in Healdsburg, including Dame Cindy Daniel’s SHED.
Cost: $65, which includes a $5 contribution to our scholarship fund. Limited to 20 members only; first come, first served.
